A Guerra Fria foi um período histórico marcado pela disputa política, militar, econômica e ideológica entre duas grandes potências do século passado: os Estados Unidos e a União Soviética. No seio desses conflitos estava o território que conhecemos atualmente como Alemanha, cuja capital - Berlim - na época era divida por um muro, o qual simbolizava a divisão, ou melhor, o alinhamento, aos regimes em voga, seja capitalista ou socialista.
Na época desse importante contexto, em fins da década de 1980, a revista Thrasher Magazine já circulava e se firmava como uma importante publicação do meio do skate. E para chamar atenção para a situação política, ela teve uma grande sacada de colocar na capa o alemão Claus Grabke, famoso por sua participação na histórica equipe da marca Santa Cruz.
Na capa podemos ver Grabke com a imagem divida por referências aos dois regimes que separavam a Alemanha na época. Uma capa histórica e uma ótima sacada da Thrasher Magazine, publicada em janeiro de 1986.
